time and punctuality

is it so hard to be punctual?

i never consider myself as a person who's always on time. in fact, if there was an award for me, i think 'miss fashionably late' would be the most appropriate. at least, that was what i thought.....

not until i met loads of people who were worse than me. a lot worse. like more than 1-hour-late worse.

sometimes i wonder how could some people be so inconsiderate. letting the other party waiting, only to know at the very last minute that they are goint to be late. and i am not talking about 10 minutes late. i can live with 10 minutes late. but when the waiting clock's ticking more than half an hour, then my blood starts to boil.

'janji melayu'.

whoever created that phrase should be executed. with a guillotine. because the phrase made these people never feel guilty about their unforgivable lateness. it's like, "hey, why do you want to be so upset about us being late, we are malay, it is in the blood."

bloody hell it is.

i am not saying that all of us who are the offsprings of Tuah and Jebat (two great Malay warrior) possess the trait. the trait of being late. mummy is a great living example that i know. she always plans ahead and make sure that she has plenty of time to arrive for any appointments that she has. even if it is just for a cup of coffee with friends at a coffee shop just around the corner.

'kerbau dipegang pada tali, manusia dipegang pada janji'.

shouldn't that be our mantra?
